Report Identity Theft or Fraud

California National Bank, now part of U.S. Bank, is committed to helping you protect yourself from identity theft and fraud. If you feel your identity has been stolen, call us at (866) 373-7838 to:

  • close your accounts and open new ones.
  • replace credit and check cards.
  • offer information to help you address and resolve situation with the Identity Theft Assistance Center (ITAC).
How to Report Identity Theft

Reporting identity theft as soon as you suspect it is critical. Here are a few steps you'll want to take:

  • Contact the Federal Trade Commission's Identity Theft Hotline at 877-ID-THEFT (877-438-4338).
  • Call the three main credit bureaus to report fraud and request copies of your credit report1.
  • Equifax: to report fraud, call 800-525-6285. To order a report call 800-685-1111.
  • Experian: to order a report or to report fraud, call 888-397-3742.
  • TransUnion: to report fraud, call 800-680-7289. To order your report, call 800-916-8800.
  • Report the theft of mail to your local postal inspector

How to Report Identity Fraud
  • If you have replied to a phishing email or SMiShing text message, please forward it to us (Note: this email box should only be used to forward fraudulent emails to California National Bank for investigation.). If you've received a vishing phone call, please call us at 866-373-7838. It's critical to know that we will never ask for any personal information in emails or text messages (only over the phone when you call one of our toll-free Customer Service numbers).
  • If you have not replied to the email, but have specific questions, please contact us at the above phone number.

1 Fraud flags and statements will be added to your report saying that all potential creditors should contact you to verify credit applications.
